Program Manager:
The district is seeking interested applicants for the Adult Education Program for the position of program manager. The program manager oversees all aspects of the Mount Vernon Adult Education Program.
The program runs for 38 weeks from July 2026 - June 2027.
Work activities:
- Develops and coordinates policies programs and procedures for daily operation of Adult Education.
- Plans and provides admissions intake registration advising testing and new student orientation.
- Researches compiles and analyzes data; and prepares data based reports.
- Oversees hiring and maintains adequate staffing for the program.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the development implementation evaluation and supervision of program goals objectives and activities in accordance with NYS guidelines. Organizes and oversees testing and registration services.
- Researches compiles reviews and prepares NRS data based reports and correspondence. Develops plans for student recruitment and retention.
- Identifies and develops course and programs across various disciplines in response to request from faculty students or community.
- Coordinates with faculty to deliver successful learning opportunities.
- Identifies and arranges for facilities services materials supplies and equipment as necessary for courses.
- Coordinates and participates in planning of professional development for Adult Education.
- Monitors student progress through measurable skill gains and develops strategies with the Adult Education Teachers to improve student learning outcomes.
- Coordinates orientations for new Adult Education Teachers.
- Creates and manages yearly budget for Adult Education in adherence to all NYSED AEPP EPE funded program guidelines and mandates.
- Schedules and facilitates staff meetings.
- Attends NYS AEPP mandatory training and conferences.
Knowledge skills and abilities:
- Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting programs and services for adult learners.
- Knowledge and application of various instructional methodologies for adult ESL and ABE students.
- Trained and experienced in NYS ASISTS database.
- Skilled in effective communication (both written and oral).
