PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Operations Supervisor is a key member of the Warren Rupp Leadership Team. The Operations Supervisor will directly lead the teams responsible for manufacturing within the production facility that align with their specific area of responsibility. The Operations Supervisor will collaborate amongst their peers; Maintenance Quality EHS Supply Chain Customer Service Engineering Finance and IT to ensure the manufacturing team meets its business objectives.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production Output & Order Fulfillment

  • Leads team of hourly team members responsible for production tasks; Assembly Material Handling Service Parts Shipping etc. aligning with specific areas of responsibility
  • Communicates with Production Scheduling Team to set daily schedule understand backlog and adjust product lead times
  • Monitors job progress and ensures production orders are completed and shipped on time to customers

Leadership & Staffing

  • Leads GEMBA walks and stand-up meetings to communicate daily performance business priorities and improvement opportunities
  • Monitors daily production goals and labor utilization to ensure team is correctly staffed. Takes actions to allocate resources train employees and close any internal skill gaps
  • Recognize & reward employees who are exceeding expectations
  • Provides coaching constructive feedback and progressive discipline (per HR policy) to employees who need improvement in performance and/or behaviors
  • Conducts thorough performance reviews that highlights each team members contribution strengths and areas for improvement
  • Participate in Merit processes for direct reports

80/20 & Operational Excellence

  • Collaborates with EHS Maintenance Continuous Improvement and Quality Managers to ensure safety projects employee suggestions and shop floor changes are implemented; high focus on change management
  • Utilizes 80/20 principles to identify and execute projects that improve production planning efficiencies and departmental execution

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in CI/Lean activities
  • Collects data for predetermined metrics
  • Participates in training as needed
  • Remaining productive while processing improvements and solving daily production issues
  • Communicate with business leadership and employees.
  • Applies 5S in area
  • All other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE EDUCATION LEVEL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE TRAINING LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

Skills & Qualifications (Required):

  • 3 - 10 years of relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience implementing safety quality and production improvement projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present information to employees
  • Good working knowledge of ERP systems (prefer JDE)

Skills & Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Administration Supply Chain Management or any other relevant degree
  • Knowledge of 80/20 and Lean tools
  • Experience working with site certifications such as ISO9001 and ISO14001
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Combination of office and production environments
  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use
