What began as a specialty retail cheese shop in downtown Atlanta has evolved into a leading national specialty food distributor serving restaurants and foodservice partners across 12 divisionswith continued expansion through acquisition including recent growth into Colorado and Arizona.

This is more than a traditional Controller role.
We are seeking a strategic and operationally minded Corporate Controller who will:
- Own the integrity of the general ledger and financial reporting
- Elevate reporting capabilities across divisions
- Strengthen budgeting forecasting and capital accounting processes
- Partner closely with executive leadership
This is a succession-minded hire. Over the next 23 years this individual is expected to grow into full enterprise-level financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Close Process
- Prepare and maintain timely and accurate financial statements
- Lead monthly quarterly and annual close processes
- Prepare monthly journal entries and oversee periodic close
- Improve and formalize the month-end close timeline (target draft by 20th final by 30th)
- Review divisional P&L statements and conduct budget-to-actual analysis
- Prepare variance reporting and executive-level financial summaries
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Prepare budgets for all profit centers and divisional entities
- Consolidate enterprise-wide budgets and allocate as required
- Develop financial forecasts and long-term projections
- Support capital planning and multi-division financial modeling
Capital & Fixed Asset Accounting
- Oversee and manage all fixed asset accounting
- Lead capital project accounting initiatives
- Support oversight of significant capital expenditures (including fleet investments exceeding $10M annually)
- Partner with leadership on financing strategy and capital allocation
Systems & Data Integration
- Oversee core accounting operations within Oracle Cloud
- Support ERP integration with NCR Power Enterprise (food-service ERP platform)
- Improve ledger feeds financial data extraction and reporting outputs
- Enhance visibility of financial data for operational leadership
- Strengthen financial data governance and system controls
Compliance Audit & Controls
- Prepare financial reporting for external sources and compliance requirements
- Provide oversight for tax-related filings
- Lead preparation for annual financial audit and serve as primary liaison with external auditors
- Develop implement and enforce internal accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure GAAP compliance and internal control integrity
Qualifications & Skills:
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience (distribution or multi-location preferred)
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting (required)
- Active CPA credential highly preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
- Experience with enterprise-level General Ledger systems (Oracle preferred)
- Strong fixed asset and capital accounting experience
- Proven ability to prepare and review financial statements
- Experience preparing and maintaining operating budgets
- Experience with multi-entity consolidations
- Ability to communicate effectively with executives business managers vendors and team members
- ERP integration experience highly valued
