SYSTRA Canada is part of the SYSTRA group an international consulting and engineering group a world leader in the design of transport infrastructures. SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure privatization of a railway. Understand better who we are by visiting .
Context
At the heart of the project the RAM specialist is responsible for assessing the RAM performance of railway systems as well as the projects overall railway system from preliminary design through commissioning. They plan and organize activities according to the Vmodel development cycle drawing on applicable standards and regulations and working in close collaboration with engineering disciplines.
Missions/Main Duties
Define the processes for all RAM engineering activities related to the relevant railway systems in line with the phases of the RAM V model lifecycle and based on applicable standards and regulations.
Define the general RAM requirements during the preliminary design phase.
Conduct preliminary RAM risk analyses for the systems within the projects overall railway transportation system.
Organize and lead multidisciplinary workshops for preliminary RAM risk analysis during the risk assessment phase.
Define RAM requirements in compliance with client requirements.
Cascade RAM requirements to each system and allocate them at the appropriate level of decomposition for railway systems and subsystems where required and relevant.
Perform demonstration analyses of RAM performance to show compliance with requirements first in the preliminary design phase and then in detailed design in close collaboration with architects designers and integrators.
Ensure full control of the RAM performance assessment process as well as interactions with the safety performance assessment process both at the level of the systems under study and at the level of the overall railway transportation system.
Be proficient in methods such as PHA/PRA at the urban railway transportation system level and the system level FMEA FMEF FMECA availability modelling of systems and the overall transportation system feared event scenario analysis and the preparation of associated reports.
Analyze and assess design compliance with RAM requirements as demonstrated in the associated reports throughout the product development V model lifecycle.
Interact with the various engineering disciplines involved in the project.
Update RAM analyses following internal and external reviews.
Profile/Skills
Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Industrial Computing or Electronic Engineering
Years of experience: 5 years of relevant experience in RAM activities. Experience in rail (tram metro) or on infrastructure projects is an asset.
Technical competencies:
- Excellent command of systems engineering the RAM discipline and a systems approach to complex systems.
- Mastery of RAM processes and methods across the full V model lifecycle of systems and throughout the project development cycle with delivery of RAM studies.
- Strong knowledge of the railway standard CENELEC EN 50126.
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing in French and English.*
*Reasons for requiring bilingualism: You will have the opportunity to work with a varied clientele including both French- and English-speaking companies. Bilingualism is therefore fundamental to building strong relationships with our customers understanding their specific needs communicating effectively in their preferred language and facilitating strategic meetings.
Personal & soft skills:
- Excellent technical writing communication and analytical skills.
