ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role you will provide ongoing support to Region / Site Managers and front-line staff to drive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Participants. A key focus of this role is the provision of strong engagement and post placement support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander jobseekers and employers to facilitate retention and sustained employment outcomes.

  • Provide quality engagement with local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community services and organisations as well as supporting staff in engaging with local communities in their region

  • Working collaboratively with all regional staff to embed approved RAP initiatives into Employment Plus

  • Provide specialist advice and leadership to regional staff regarding Indigenous Placements Outcome and Post Placement Support

  • Assist Front line operational staff to connect non-job ready participants with relevant local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services and support

  • Identify build and maintain regional connections between EPlus programs and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and services

  • Provide culturally appropriate training and mentoring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants

  • Source quality employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants

  • Deliver quality pre- and post-placement support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants across all programs working with EPlus staff to identify and address potential barriers to employment

ABOUT YOU

  • You are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person who can build engagement and connection through lived experience as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and agencies

  • Demonstrated understanding of the history and challenges impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

  • Experience in employment services recruitment or a similar vocation particularly in the specialist areas relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

  • Advanced relationship building and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral

  • Able to work in a multi team environment

  • Applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent through parentage identification as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and accepted in the community as such

  • A current valid drivers licence is essential for this position
