Job Description Summary:
The Dentist is responsible for providing comprehensive dental care including diagnosis preventative care operative procedures prosthetics oral surgery and treatment of oral pathologies. This role requires the Dentist to deliver services consistent with professional standards as well as the policies and procedures set by Cherry Street Services Inc. The Dentist will ensure patient care is provided in a professional ethical and effective manner while adhering to the organizations standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and treatment ensuring all procedures are performed in accordance with accepted professional standards.
- Assist in the development implementation and monitoring of clinic policies procedures and protocols to achieve the goals and objectives of Cherry Street Services Inc.
- Contribute to the development and management of the Dental Quality Assurance program.
- Participate in supervising training and mentoring semi-professional and paraprofessional dental staff.
- Participate in the after-hours and weekend on-call system to provide ongoing patient care.
- Ensure appropriate referrals are made to encourage continuity of care for patients.
- Attend departmental internal and external meetings as required.
- Understand and adhere to Cherry Street Services Inc.s compliance standards including the Corporate Compliance Policy Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Stay informed on relevant federal state and organizational regulations laws and policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Oral Health Officer.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification as required by the role and licensing standards.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with others in person and via telephone.
- Willingness to work evenings weekends and in a variety of work environments such as traditional offices mobile dental vans and nursing homes.
- Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions.
- Effective oral communication skills for engaging with diverse individuals and groups.
- Exercise sound judgment when making decisions and appraising situations.
- Ability to work with limited supervision while maintaining professionalism and stability.
- Capable of managing confidential agency and patient information.

Education / Licenses / Certificates:
- Current valid license to practice dentistry in Michigan.
- DEA registration required.
- Insurable as a dentist for liability coverage.
Experience:
At least one year of experience working in a dental practice or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
