Make a Difference
The Manager of Emergency Managements & Preparedness reports to the Safety Director located at Community Anderson Hospital with duties at Howard (Kokomo) Regional. The individual is responsible for chairing and coordinating the Emergency Management Program. He/she will conduct drills based on the sites HVAs perform critique of the actual events. The individual will assist and support licensed and non-licensed ambulatory sites with emergency planning and conducting drills.

4 years/bachelors degreeEmergency Preparedness Environmental Health & Safety Occupational Health or related field (Required)
Other In lieu of a bachelors degree must hold the following Certifications Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional and/or Certified Healthcare Safety Professional issued by the International Board of Certified Safety Managers (Required)
7 years: Healthcare emergency management (Required)
Hazardous Materials Technician Certification upon hire or obtained within 6 months
Responsible for coordinating the Hazardous Materials Program
Review and update the Hazard Communications Program annually
Monitor changes in Hazardous Materials regulations
Coordinate bi-annual chemical inventory process for Anderson & Kokomo
Chair and record minutes for all HazMat Committee meetings
Conduct waste segregation and disposal audits periodically
Lead hazardous materials response team
Ensure annual training and requirements of team members are met
Update AMP database for HazMat annually or as requested
Provide updates to EOC Committee and maintain Hazardous Materials Management Plan for EOC
Serve as healthcare representative on Local Emergency Planning Committee participating in meetings training and exercises
