Software Engr I

• Analyzing evaluating and integrating solutions to complex technical problems based on broad objectives from management and customers
• Encouraging optimum design within customer specifications quality standards schedule and funding limitations
• Assisting in formulating engineering project requirements to meet the customers needs and deadlines
• Developing detailed implementation plans to execute and meet project requirements
• Working closely with project management hardware engineering communications engineering configuration management quality assurance and operations support to ensure proper integration of software engineering with the other disciplines involved in the project
• Designing implementing testing and deploying software projects
• Providing technical guidance mentoring direction and assistance to other engineering team members
• Reviewing modifications to system software to ensure compatibility with existing hardware and software
• Soliciting and documenting detailed product requirements
• Writing technical data packages in support of software development or modifications
• Attending and facilitates meetings as required
• Performing other related duties as required

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

• Bachelors degree in a computer science computer engineering computer information systems or in an IT field
• 1-3 years of experience supporting:
  • Programming languages or framework including Java C C Python or JavaScript
  • Software application testing (all)
• Thorough understanding systems development life cycle methodologies (SDLC) such as Agile SAFe etc.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

• Experience with US Navy application development processes networks systems and applications
• Cloud platforms and operating systems
• Database engineering experience including SQL or Oracle
• Hands on experience with enterprise DevOps or DevSecOps
