TITLE:
| SPEECH/LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY ASSISTANT |
QUALIFICATIONS: | 1. | Current licensure as a Speech/Language Pathology Assistant in the State of Arizona. |
| 2. | Hearing Handicapped certification and Sign Language desirable. |
| Alternative to the above qualifications as the Governing Board finds appropriate and acceptable. |

WORKS CLOSELY WITH: | Speech/Language Pathologist teachers special education teachers. |
JOB GOAL: | To provide speech and language intervention services to identified students. |
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: This list represents the essential tasks performed by the position. These essential job functions are not to be construed as a complete statement of all duties performed. Employees will be required to perform other duties as assigned. Duties responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice. |
| 1. | Implement intervention programs to remediate deficit speech/language skills of identified students. |
| 2. | Conduct speech and language screenings. |
| 3. | Conduct speech language therapeutic programs in accord with instructional plans. |
| 4. | Act as advisor to teachers regarding speech and language disorders. |
| 5. | Progress monitor students and give input as to progress and needs to support student mastery of IEP goals. |
| 6. | Provide in-service information to staff. |
| 7. | Conducts daily/weekly schedule effectively. |
| 8. | Demonstrate knowledge of State and Federal special education rules and regulations and how they impact District procedures and policies. |
| 9. | Continue professional growth through involvement in course work in-service and participation in professional conferences appropriate to the field of speech and language therapy. |
| 10. | Perform other appropriate duties as assigned. |
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: | 1488 hours/year. Hourly rate and workdays established by the Board. |
EVALUATION: | Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of Staff. |
