About the Opportunity:
Our client is a highly specialized European technology company developing advanced software solutions for Air Traffic Management (ATM) including radar visualization flight data processing and decision-support tools for air traffic controllers.
To support ongoing growth and regulatory obligations we are looking for a Senior Safety Engineer to ensure that software systems and associated ground equipment meet the highest safety reliability and regulatory standards applicable to ATM environments.
This role operates in a highly regulated aerospace context and requires strong expertise in safety assurance for software-intensive systems.
Your Responsibilities:
Safety Engineering & Assurance
Lead safety activities across the full software lifecycle (concept to release)
Perform and maintain safety analyses including:
FHA
FMEA
FTA
Hazard Analysis
HSIA
FDIR
Safety Assessments
Define and allocate Software Assurance Levels (SWAL)
Ensure safety is integrated into system requirements architecture HMI and operational modes
Maintain hazard logs and compliance matrices
Ensure end-to-end traceability of safety requirements and mitigations
Assess safety impacts of changes anomalies and non-compliances
Conduct safety investigations and contribute to root cause analysis
Prepare safety documentation for authorities and customers
Support certification demonstrations and audits
Regulatory & Process Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with:
EASA Design & Production frameworks
ED-153
ED-109A
ED-205A
EU Regulations related to ATM safety
Contribute to internal safety process definition and continuous improvement
Support Integrated Quality Management System documentation
Define and monitor safety KPIs
Contribute to internal safety awareness and training initiatives
Your Profile:
Strong experience in software safety engineering within regulated environments
Background in aerospace aeronautics ATM rail or other safety-critical industries
Solid knowledge of standards such as:
ED-153
ARP4761
ED-109A
ED-205A
DO-178C / ED-12C
DO-278A
Good understanding of software development lifecycles
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
Ability to work in complex high-stakes environments
Fluent English required; French is a plus
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
