About You
The position reports directly to theAssistantDirector International Admissions andis responsible forthe professional and efficient coordination of admissions and admissions related activities and supervision and training of staff within an assigned team. TheAdmissionsCoordinatoris responsible forundertaking and coordinating admissions work within a team including assessment andselection reportingprioritisationof applications data integrity quality customer service to prospective students their familiesagentsand staff within the addition the position may beto undertake recruitment activities andspecialisedtasks related to the management of admissions related activities.
This position is for a parental leave cover.
To be successful in this position youwill have:
Specialist knowledge across a wide range of areas including:
Relevant Australian and international legislation relating to educationand student visa program
Education systems entry requirements and qualifications (including pathways) assessmentaccreditationand intercultural competence
Accurate and up-to-date knowledge of Department ofHome Affairs(DHA)requirements relating to international students
Comprehensive knowledge about RMIT study options specific admission requirements and relevant internal policies andproceduresparticularly those relating to selection and admission of international students.
Demonstratedexperience in the assessment of international qualifications and/experience in the tertiary education sector in an area related to international students.
Comprehensive experience in using computer applications including databases wordprocessingand spread sheets.
Proven ability to manage heavy workloadsmaintainaccuracyand meet deadlines in a complex and demanding work environment.
High levelinterpersonal communication and negotiation skills coupled with cultural sensitivity and knowledge to be able tooperateindependently athigh levelsand to achieve desired outcomes in a variety of international and cultural contexts
Well-developedorganisational planning andproblem solvingskills including the ability to exercise judgement and initiative in resolving disputes and/ordifficult situations
Strong customer service orientation and proven experience in relationship management
Demonstratedexperience in staff management.
Qualification
A relevantBachelorsdegree and extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of both
