Job Summary

The Executive Director is the key management leader of OnePlace Family Justice Center. The Executive Director is responsible foroverseeing the administration programs and strategic plan of the key duties include fundraising marketing and community outreach. Theposition reports directly to the Board of Directors.

The Executive Director is an employee of the MontgomeryCounty District Attorneys Office (15th Judicial Circuit).

Nature of Work

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Board Governance: Works with board in order tofulfill the organization mission.

  • Responsible for leading One Place in a manner that supports and guides the organizations mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing in a timely and accurate manner all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.

2) Financial Performance and Viability: Developsresources to ensure the financial health of the organization.

  • Responsible for the fiscal integrity of One Place to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
  • Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget ensures maximum resource utilization and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
  • Responsible for annual audit completion (if applicable). This includes knowledge of Title 2 U. S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 200 Uniform Administrative Requirements Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards

  • Work closely with Board in fundraising and developing other resources necessary to support One Places mission.

3) Organization Mission and Strategy:Works withboard and staff to ensure the mission is fulfilled through programs strategicplanning and community outreach.

  • Responsible for implementation of One Places programs that carry out the organizations mission.
  • Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that One Place can successfully fulfill its Mission into the future.
  • Responsible for the enhancement of One Places image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional civic and private organizations.

4) Organization Operations. Oversees and implementsappropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization areappropriate.

  • Responsible for effective administration of operations.
  • Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent qualified staff.
  • Responsible for signing all notes agreements and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.
  • Responsible for all Program certifications and memberships as established by the Board and funders.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • A Masters degree
  • Transparent and high integrity leadership
  • Five or more years senior nonprofit management experience
  • Solid hands-on budget management skills including budget preparation analysis decision-making and reporting
  • Strong organizational abilities including planning delegating program development and task facilitation
  • Ability to convey a vision of One Places strategic future to staff board volunteers and donors
  • Grant writing administration and management
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to nonprofit sector
  • Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups
  • Demonstrated strong ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
  • Strong public speaking skills with flexibility to participate in evening and weekend events

Job Duties:

  1. Planning and operation of organizations financials including but not limited to annual budget fundraising donations etc.
  2. Establishing employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operation of the nonprofit.
  3. Serving as One Places primary spokesperson to the organizations constituents the media and the general public.
  4. Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations throughout the state and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance the organizations mission.
  5. Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek its involvement in policy decisions fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the Organization throughout the State.
  6. Hire and Supervise organization staff including STAR Program Coordinator.
  7. Work closely with on-site and off-site partners. Participate in regular meetings with on-site partners and their supervisors to maintain open communications and effective One Place services.
  8. Closely manage agency funding requirements including but not limited to grant goals objectives budgets and operation agreements (ie; subgrantee special conditions policy letters/guides etc.)
  9. Strategic planning and implementation.
  10. Actively participate in organization Board and committee meetings.
  11. Oversee marketing and other communications efforts.
  12. DevelopReview and approve contracts for services.
  13. Other duties as assigned by the District Attorney and Board of Directors.
