We are excited to offer you the opportunity to score for thePearson Test of English Academic(PTEA OP). This project supports the worldwide assessment to measure English language proficiency for adults whose primary language is not English. About the Role:
As a Professional Scorer for the PTEA OP you will evaluate challenging written responses that are based on a stringent set of rubrics. The majority of responses on this assessment are scored by an artificial intelligence system; however you will be tasked with scoring outlier responses that could not be assessed by the AI. These responses may not closely align with the prompts requiring you to make nuanced scoring decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate student responses to open-ended questions reliably and score according to the provided scoring guide.
- Successfully internalize training materials and the customer scoring guide.
- Pass a qualifying test before beginning scoring.
- Apply the scoring guide without personal bias adhering strictly to customer requirements.
- Flexible Working Hours:This position offers flexible working hours available 24/7 with a minimum requirement of 20 hours per week and a maximum of 40 hours per week. You have the freedom to choose your schedule within these parameters.
Qualifications:
We are seeking qualified candidates to join our scoring team. Please review the following qualifications to ensure you meet the necessary requirements:
- Educational Requirement: Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy is required.
- Assessment: Successful completion of the Versant qualification test.
- Confidentiality: Ability to maintain a secure and confidential work environment.
Technology and Work Environment Requirements:
Personal Computer and Internet: Candidates must have access to a personal computer that meets the scoring systems specifications as well as reliable internet service.
- Note: Use of shared office computers institutional or public computer labs is not permitted.
System Recommendations:
- Windows Users: The operating system must be Windows XP Vista 7 8 or 10.
- Mac Users: The operating system must be OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) Lion (10.7) Mountain Lion (10.8) Mavericks (10.9) or Yosemite (10.10).
- Preparation Tip: It is recommended to verify that your system is relatively up to date to ensure compatibility with the scoring platform.
Internet Requirements: A stable high-speed internet connection with a minimum speed of25 Mbpsis required for optimal performance.
