What will you do
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer Solar & BESS to join our Energyand Power Generationteam in Perth.
In this role you will support the design and delivery of MW-scale solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects including major solar developments in the tens to hundreds of megawatts.Youllwork across the full project lifecycleconcept feasibilitydesignand construction supportbringing strong technical capability and a practical delivery mindset.
You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across the business (civil structural HV/substations transmission protection and control grid connection advisory and PM) and coordinate with distributed delivery teams asto achieve high-quality outcomes for our clients.There will also be an opportunity tocontribute to projects in theDefencesector where security requirements apply. Critically you will also get access to a network of engineers that have worked onmany of Australias flagshiprenewableenergyand storageprojects.
Here are the key things you will need to bring ideas tolife:
Demonstrated experience in electrical design for utility-scale solar and/or BESS with proven delivery on MW-scale projects.
Strong understanding of solar/BESS electrical systems and interfaces such as (as relevant to your experience):
inverter-based generation and grid-forming / grid-following considerations
DC collection systems string/central inverterconfigurationsand inverter stations
MV reticulation switchgear transformersearthingand lightning protection
BESS architecture (PCS battery racks/containers HV/MV integration auxiliaries)
protectioncontroland metering interfaces including integration with substations and grid connection requirements
Experience producing high-quality deliverables: single line diagrams equipment specifications calculations technical reports designpackagesand review documentation.
Ability to work effectively in integrated teams across the business and coordinate with offshore/distributed delivery teams whilemaintainingquality andprogrammealignment.
Strong communicationskills and confidenceengagingwith clients OEMs contractorsNSPsand internal stakeholders.
A collaborative mindset with a focus on safety constructability and delivering to scopebudgetand schedule.
Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering (working towardChartered status will behighly regarded).
This rolemaywork onDefence-related projects.Forthis candidatesmust be Australian or New Zealand citizento meet baseline clearance eligibility requirements (and be willing to undergo relevant screening/clearance processes).
