About the role
Our Wellington based finance team is looking for a law clerk to join us in January 2027. This is an interesting and challenging role that will suit an enthusiastic self-starter who is interested in commercial law and enjoys cultivating strong working relationships.
We are a large multi-disciplinary finance team so can offer you the opportunity to act for a wide range of high-profile clients including banks and funds developers corporate borrowers local authorities and key public sector entities. We are working on some exciting matters including:
- assisting corporate borrowers with their financing arrangements (through both the bank and capital markets)
- assisting banks with lending and regulatory matters;
- advising on the funding and financing aspects and risk allocation of large infrastructure projects including public private partnerships; and
- advising clients in the energy sector on significant projects for Aotearoa.
We are keen to speak to candidates that have an interest in commercial law (although there is no requirement to have studied commerce in order to work in our finance team) and are keen to be involved in a variety of work on financing matters that are important to Aotearoa. As a successful law clerk in our finance team you will be given the room to take initiative and showcase your skills while having a close-knit team including a buddy to support you.
