Job Summary:

This co-op position offers students hands-on experience in a fast-paced design engineering environment providing the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges while building a strong foundation for a future engineering career by solving design and engineering problems alongside a team of experienced engineers. This role is involved in designing and optimizing a wide range of manufactured products supporting production implementation and contributing to the creation of new high-quality products used in the fire protection industry.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Work on design projects supporting the Engineering teams efforts in new product development and sustaining engineering of existing product lines
• Design and build prototypes test fixtures and other assemblies as necessary
• Assist in design and development of ECS products

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

• While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse the employee can be exposed to noise. The noise level is usually moderate. Must have reliable means of transportation.
• This is an in-office position requiring regular working hours at ECS headquarters.
• Frequently required to remain in a stationary position often standing or sitting for prolonged periods at a desk or work bench and working using a computer.
• Use a computer keyboard with mouse for long periods of time
• Occasionally life and/or move 25 pounds.
• Occasionally required to stand walk climb ladders/steps and sit.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects tools or controls reach with hands and arms climb stairs balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl talk or hear
• All above could occur in high or low temperatures involving wind and/or precipitation

Travel:
