Job Summary

Snell & Wilmer one of the largest law firms in the Western United States is seeking a full-time Trust & Retainer Specialistto join our Finance Department in our Phoenix office.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills who can manage financial transactions accurately while maintaining excellent communication with attorneys staff and clients.

The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Once fully trained you may have the option to work a hybrid schedule with flexibly to adjust based on business needs.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Record and process funds received into trust and retainer accounts
  • Obtain appropriate authorizations and process disbursements in accordance with firm policies and procedures
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with financial and accounting standards
  • Investigate and resolve questions related to transactions balances or payment processing
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with attorneys staff and clients regarding trust and retainer activity
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships across departments to support efficient financial operations

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2 to 3 years of experience working with accounts payable accounts receivable or related accounting functions
  • Associates Degree in Accounting or related field preferred but not required
  • Large law firm experience is a plus
  • Experience with accounting or financial management systems preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a professional environment
