Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)
Location: Simpsonville South Carolina
Contract Duration: 8 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift 5x8 Hours (9:30 PM 6:00 AM)

Position Overview

A healthcare facility in Simpsonville SC is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support the Central Sterile department. The technician will be responsible for cleaning sterilizing assembling and distributing surgical instruments and medical equipment while ensuring strict adherence to infection control and sterilization standards.

This role requires strong experience in sterile processing and the ability to work efficiently during night shifts in a fast-paced surgical services environment.

Key Responsibilities

Decontaminate clean and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
Inspect assemble and package instrument trays according to established protocols
Operate sterilization equipment and ensure proper sterilization procedures
Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles and equipment usage
Ensure compliance with infection control policies and regulatory standards
Prepare and distribute sterile supplies to surgical and procedural departments
Maintain organization and inventory of sterile processing supplies
Collaborate with surgical services staff to ensure timely instrument availability

Schedule Requirements

Night Shift: 9:30 PM 6:00 AM
Five shifts per week (8 hours each)
On-call responsibilities required
Floating may be required based on department needs

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing experience
HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) Certification required
Strong understanding of sterile processing procedures and infection control standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
