SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Anti-Trafficking Case Manager Specialist will work with the program director and corps officer to implement trauma-informed outreach and case management for victims and survivors of human trafficking. The case manager will provide these case management and related services by working with the area service providers to ensure follow-up and coordination for ongoing service needs. The case manager will develop and maintain key partnerships with local partners child welfare agencies local/federal law enforcement and faith-based community partners. The case manager will partner with the Anti-Trafficking Director to host and participate in awareness and training events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide initial screening and intake of newly identified or potential victims of labor or sex trafficking and ensure all coordinated referrals are made with community partners for the identified victims ongoing needs.
Provide support and advocacy for case management and direct services with victims of human trafficking cases.
Identify and participate in ongoing professional development training for direct services staff to ensure best practice models are continuously evaluated and implemented during service delivery.
Provide ongoing trauma informed services utilizing best practices approaches including group process trafficking counseling and wellness approaches such as yoga etc.
Work with survivors to provide ongoing feedback and support to all anti-trafficking efforts and program development throughout the phase of OVS funded activities as well as ongoing Salvation Army Hope Empowers anti-trafficking efforts.
Work to develop a coordinated service provider network. Provide direct services to clients:
o in a linguistically appropriate manner for each client utilizing interpretation/translation services as needed.
o in a developmentally appropriate manner for each client.
o in reintegration support into the community to develop a sense of voice and regain power and control after suffering forms of severe trauma with a focus on self-determination and choice in service access.
o By developing individualized trauma informed and culturally sensitive service plans for self-sufficiency to coordinate ongoing short- and long-term aftercare services.
o By adhering to all safety planning policies and procedures of the program.
o By adhering to all confidentiality standards of the Salvation Army anti human trafficking program models standards and maintain confidentiality in all communication.
o by maintaining up to date case notes and ensuring client confidentiality in all forms of communication.
o To assist victims of HT through linkages to area resources as identified in individualized service plan such as detox/rehab treatment mental health treatment physical health treatment legal assistance familial support financial programs and other identified needs.
Submit timely reports and work with the director on the database/project evaluation activities.
Assist in the outreach plan for increased victim identification of vulnerable populations throughout the area.
As appropriate for the developmental stage of the program prepare trauma-based healing exercises using evidence-based curricula.
As appropriate for the developmental stage of the program facilitate trauma-based process groups with participants.
Ensure that all data is entered into the Service Point and any other systems that may be required.
Follow rules regulations and policies of the Department of Social Services and The Salvation Army.
Cooperate with other Salvation Army staff and Corps Ministry teams to create and maintain a harmonious and efficient environment.
Performs related duties as assigned.
SPECIAL SKILLS CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:
Bachelors of Social Work degree or related field.
Preferred: Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) in the State of New York or licensure to be achieved within 12 months of hire date.
Preferred: Experience working with victims of human trafficking or experience working with victims of crime.
Willingness to uphold and support The Salvation Armys mission and ministry.
Ability to obtain and maintain driving privileges per The Salvation Army insurance standards.
Experience with trauma informed care.
Professional communication skills verbal and written.
Meet required background checks.
