Ensure efficient operation of the Child Nutrition Department office.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to use computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases.
- Proficient typing word processing and file maintenance skills
- Effective organizational communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Experience:
- None Required experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Reception and Phones
- Scheduling and ordering of services and products.
- Assist in preparing instructional materials meeting agendas letters and rosters.
- Receive incoming calls and communicate with CISD staff parents visitors and students in a positive professional manner.
Files
- Maintain physical and computerized files including Free and Reduced files staff files and office communication.
- Update and prepare documents as assigned.
Substitute (Cafeteria kitchen)
- Cashiers prepares and serves food according to meal schedules departmental policies and procedures. Follows required HACCP Food Safety Plan and Texas Nutrition Policy.
- Demonstrates willingness to work where needed and assist others when assigned jobs are complete.
- Attend workshops and training sessions.
Purchase Orders and Financial Support
Prepare process and track purchase orders (POs) for the Child Nutrition Department
Assist with monitoring expenditures and maintaining accurate financial documentation
Support reconciliation of department accounts and financial records
Other
- Prepare and maintain monthly payroll files and assist Cafeteria Managers with payroll reporting (time Sheets tardiness and absenteeism)
- Assist Cafeteria Managers and cashiers with point of sale system reconciling cash procedures end of day deposits and reports.
- Assists with the Free and Reduced Meal Program records reports and correspondence.
- Assist with catering set up delivery and pickup.
Equipment Used:
Personal computer and peripherals copier fax machine and calculator.

Mental Conditions/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing walking pushing and pulling; moderate lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds some stooping bending and kneeling; limited exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures. Work with frequent interruptions. Repetitive hand motions prolonged use of a computer.
