The Group Leader is responsible for supporting daily production operations by leading a team of production employees in an automotive manufacturing environment. This role ensures that production goals quality standards and safety requirements are met while promoting teamwork continuous improvement and efficient workflow on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support a team of production operators to ensure daily production targets are met.
Monitor workflow and coordinate activities to maintain production schedules and minimize downtime.
Ensure adherence to safety policies quality standards and operating procedures.
Provide guidance training and support to team members to improve performance and skill development.
Assist with troubleshooting production issues and escalating concerns to supervisors or maintenance when necessary.
Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with established manufacturing specifications.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to productivity safety and quality.
Maintain accurate production records and communicate performance updates to leadership.
Promote a positive work environment through teamwork communication and employee engagement.
Assist supervisors with shift coordination staffing support and operational needs.
Qualifications
Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and production operations.
Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
Experience with manufacturing equipment assembly processes or automated production systems.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Associates degree in Manufacturing Business or a related field preferred.
2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Prior leadership or team lead experience preferred.
