Customer Quality Engineer
Petaling Jaya - Malaysia
Job Summary
You will ensure that customer requirements are met. You will be responsible and accountable for customer quality issues. You will be the link between Technical Lab Sales & Manufacturing Operations; acting as a leader in Root Cause Analysis ensuring response. You will be the single point of contact for all type of customer claims from warranty and post warranty product claims. You will report directly to Quality Assurance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Support and promote Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) compliance by maintaining a safe work environment reporting safety observations and near-misses and participating in Management Inspection Program (MIP) activities.
Lead and facilitate effective resolution of customer quality issues and claims ensuring accurate registration tracking and closure within the ETQ system.
Manage internal processing of customer complaints in accordance with defined procedures while maintaining strong professional customer relationships.
Act as a key problem-solving expert supporting cross-functional teams (manufacturing engineering process laboratory warehouse planning etc.) to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Promote and uphold PPG quality standards and customer quality objectives across the organization ensuring consistent understanding and deployment.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers providing timely accurate and appropriate responses to quality issues and requests.
Conduct internal audits and collaborate with Account Managers to ensure customer-specific requirements are clearly understood deployed and complied with.
Develop and drive action plans and strategies to close quality gaps reduce customer complaints and improve customer satisfaction product quality and delivery performance.
Ensure clear effective communication with customers TSSR and internal stakeholders on issue status corrective actions and next steps to prevent escalation.
Monitor customer satisfaction indicators and quality performance metrics maintaining quality documentation and supporting continuous improvement initiatives including crater surveys and best-practice implementation.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree major in chemistry engineering or chemistry will be preferred.
At least 3 years working experience in technical or manufacturing. Ideally within Automotive Industrial or Packaging industries
Familiar use root cause analysis tools: 5 Whys Ishikawa diagram 8D A3 etc.
Knowledge of specific customer requirements
Green or Black Belt Certification
Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
