Job Summary

Worley has an engineering services contract with bp covering engineering scopes at the bp Kwinana Energy Hub. The scope of work comprises discipline engineering support for site-based capital projects supporting existing operations and the transition to an Energy Hub.

This role is based at the bp Kwinana site and requires the successful candidate to work from the site office with self-travel to site (travel must be under <1.5 hours one way). Flexibility to work from home or from Worleys head office in the Perth CBD is available as agreed with the site team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical engineering design and technical verification in accordance with company client and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop fitforpurpose safe and sustainable designs across the full asset lifecycle (concept to commissioning and decommissioning).
  • Prepare review and approve engineering calculations drawings and technical documentation (SLDs schematics layouts terminations schedules specifications datasheets).
  • Perform detailed brownfield electrical system modifications including equipment sizing cable routing earthing lighting arc flash studies HV switchgear and MCC design.
  • Design and coordinate protection systems and relay settings (overcurrent earth fault motor VSD protection).
  • Interface with instrumentation and control systems.
  • Participate in and support HAZID/HAZOP and safetyindesign reviews; identify and manage technical risks and hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian electrical standards and hazardous area requirements (where applicable).
  • Support procurement and construction activities including development of MTOs ITPs specifications scopes of work FAT/SAT participation and commissioning support.
  • Prepare and contribute to discipline estimates resource planning and execution schedules.
  • Manage scope control technical queries and change management within the discipline.
  • Coordinate electrical design with other disciplines to ensure technical integrity and consistency.

Project Lead Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate discipline engineering activities to meet schedule and budget.
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to engineers and designers.
  • Maintain technical quality conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with checking procedures.
  • Manage discipline deliverables resources progress reporting and stakeholder interface.

About You

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (Power preferred).
  • 10 years experience in refinery mining or heavy industry including disciplinelevel project leadership.
  • Extensive recent experience in brownfield detailed electrical design.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian electrical standards and hazardous area design (HA accreditation and/or TÜV Functional Safety desirable).
  • Proven capability across all project phases including site works commissioning and shutdown planning.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within schedule and budget.
