6 month Fixed Term Contract
Reports to: Head of HR
Service Reporting Relationship: Department Managers
Location: Group Head Office/Hybrid
Job Purpose
The HR Business Partner provides expert support to Departmental and Line Managers and collaborates closely with the Head of HR to deliver effective human resources strategies and solutions. This role drives key HR initiatives supports workforce planning fosters employee engagement and ensures the HR function is responsive compliant and aligned with the Health Systems strategic goals. The HRBP is pivotal in advising on employee relations coaching managers and promoting a high-performing and values-driven workplace.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides support on routine ER/IR matters including grievance and disciplinary cases helping to maintain a positive employee relations environment
Collaborate with hospital and departmental leadership and the Finance function to develop workforce plans and talent strategies aligned with service delivery goals and budgetary compliance.
Provide hands-on coaching training and support to line managers to strengthen people. management capabilities with a focus on performance engagement and staff development.
Monitor and analyse HR metrics (e.g. absenteeism turnover morale) through HR systems to identify trends inform decision-making and drive improvements in workforce performance and engagement.
Collaborating with Head of TA on strategies to attract and retain high-quality talent in alignment with strategic goals.
Reviews and approves employment contracts for internal and external offers.
Lead and co-ordinate the full lifecycle of employment permit applications.
Implement initiatives that promote staff wellbeing inclusive engagement and a recognition culture aligned with the Health Systems values and Employer of Choice ambitions.
Contribute to HR change initiatives including policy updates process improvements and the integration of HR technology solutions to enhance service delivery and support the People Strategy.
Collaborate with department leaders to assess training and development needs ensuring staff have the skills required to deliver high-quality care efficiently and effectively.
Facilitate proactive communication between HR and hospital staff on key initiatives HR developments and engagement activities to foster collaboration and transparency.
Provide strategic and operational HR support to the Head of HR and hospital management contributing to Group-wide initiatives and ensuring alignment with the overall People Strategy and Health System objectives.
Promote and role-model the Mission Vision and Values of the Health System in all interactions and HR initiatives
Person Specification
Qualifications 3rd level qualification in Human Resource Management or related field.
Experience A minimum of 5 years experience working in Human Resources.
Must be knowledgeable of Irish Employment Law and HR Best Practice Procedures.
Strong Industrial Relations/ER experience.
Relevant Experience in a Healthcare setting.
A proven track record of managing change in a complex work environment.
Strong communicator with excellent people management interpersonal communication influencing and teamwork skills.
Excellent IT skills to include MS Office: Word Excel Outlook. Experience with a HRMIS system (e.g. TAMS and Workday) would be advantageous.
