The Springer Nature Opening Doorsinternshipisa paid opportunity inLondon UKfor students and recent graduates to gain experience in research education and science news publishing in our journalsbooksor magazines.

The successful applicant will spendup to 6monthsasRewardand Recognition Assistantwithinthe Editorial EngagementTeampart of thePublishing Performance and Intelligencedivision of Springer Nature. If selected for this internship you will besupporting the team by:

  • Project management support: Driving and delivering activities related to key engagement initiatives and supporting the day-to-day management of projects:

  • Managing a discrete project within the reward programme developing project management skills with support and oversight from the Senior Manager Editor Reward

  • Assistingour initiatives by carrying out research activitiesmonitoringtheirprogressand measuring success

  • Providing project management and administrative support for ongoing projects

  • Facilitating the coordination of monthly reporting for initiatives across the Editor Engagement team

  • Reward and recognition initiatives:Supporting the delivery of key engagement activities:

  • Contributing to the creation and delivery of communications that support our reward initiatives including drafting content supporting virtualeventsandassistingwith related outreach activities

  • Supporting pilot initiatives within our online editor communities that help strengthen engagement and amplify the impact of our reward programmes

  • Supporting our reward programme by providing data analysis project management support and reporting to ensure our editors and Reviewing Editors receive recognition for their contribution in an efficient and engaging way

  • Customer support: Providing a positive experience for our external Editors EBMs and Reviewers and building relationships with these key stakeholders. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing logistical support for the development of Springer Nature external editor focus groups and serve as a liaison with these groups including virtual meetings

  • Serving as a point of contact for the Editor Engagement Teammonitoringthe team inbox and triaging request to theappropriate teammember

  • Providing team cover during periods of absence

About you:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduateprogramme or a recent graduate

  • Available to start in June 2026 for an internshipof up to six months

  • Strong interest in research publishing

Reporting to the Senior Manager Editor Reward the Reward and Recognition Assistant(Intern)will support Springer Natures Editor Engagement team by providing operational and administrative support for ourexternal editor rewardprogramme.

The Editor Engagement Team works to inform engage and earn the loyalty of Springer Natures community of over 100000 Editors and Editorial Board Members. Motivating them to contribute to the development and running of the journals they serve.

This internship will focus specifically on ensuring our Editors Editorial Board Members and Reviewing Editors arerecognisedand celebrated for the vital role they play. As Reward and Recognition Assistant you will helpfacilitateour rewardprogramme providing day-to-day operational support and managing a discrete project within theprogrammeunder the guidance of the Senior Manager Editor Reward.
