Overall purpose of role

Group Resolution Planning(GRP) a functional unit within ESAs Finance Division is responsible for Euroclears compliance against the EUs regulatory requirements on resolution planning. The unit is primarily responsible for Euroclear to be ready in a severe crisis situation and to be resolved in an orderly way without impacting broader financial stability.

As a member of the GRP team you will assume responsibility for different dimensions of resolution both in a supportive role to the Team lead and subject matter experts (SMEs) in the business and ultimately become responsibility to lead part of the book of work. You will have significant interaction and exposure to senior staff and Management across the businesses and functions of Euroclear Group and particularly Euroclear Bank.

Role Description

  • Provide support on and where possible lead on work where the GRP team compiles and analyses firm information and financial data for regulatory files including areas such as resolution reporting (Annual submissions; MREL etc) resolvability testing and self-assessments.
  • Synthesise and present outputs of projects/analyses into concise executive summary materials for committees and bank executives as well as support/lead in the development of resolution playbooks contingency plans etc.
  • Have the ability to analyse information received to develop content and solutions to key aspects of such playbooks and other regulatory files where information may not be readily available.
  • Support the development of solutions to remediate any impediments to resolution and their monitoring.
  • Manage and organise the inflow of content from subject matter experts from group functions ensuring the consistency accuracy and timeliness of deliverables and submissions.
  • Liaise with stakeholders across businesses and functions to ensure the refresh and completion of deliverables. Manage relationships between GRP and business units to ensure that stakeholders are aligned to the aims needs and deliverables of Resolution Planning requirements.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and report key issues concepts and activities to GRP Management.
  • Compile key documents for submission to the resolution authority.
  • Support the Finance team for the BaU delivery of regulatory resolution reporting requirements by performing review and controls.
  • Support work on resolvability testing either from a project management or content delivery perspective; the testing includes exercises which range from strategic to tactical and simulate aspects of a financial stress in order to test and improve Euroclears resolution planning.
  • Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements the Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Policies and Policy Standards.

Skills and Competencies

  • Work experience: Preferably prior work experience (2-3 years) in resolution planning. Candidates with work experience in areas such as capital liquidity risk management or recovery planning and with knowledge in wholesale banking custody and asset management who may have strong interest to develop in this area are also encouraged to apply.
  • Analytical skills: Ability to analyse complex issues and for out-of-the-box thinking to define business-oriented solutions. Strong numeric skills with attention to detail.
  • Project management: Strong time management planning and organisation abilities.
  • Personal skills: Collaborator and an effective communicator. Credible with stakeholders to senior management level. High integrity able to deal with highly confidential and market sensitive information. Able to understand the dynamics of large complex financial organisation and perform within.
  • IT: Extensive knowledge of MS Office suite (Word Excel Powerpoint) knowledge of other financial industry tools and/or database systems an advantage.
