What Youll Do

• Drive the editorial vision and strategic direction for both digital and print platforms.
• Lead a team of journalists to produce high-quality engaging and impactful content across multiple platforms.
• Shape digital-first workflows while maintaining strong print standards.
• Collaborate with audience product and marketing teams to optimize reach and engagement.
• Use audience data and analytics to inform coverage and elevate reader experiences.
• Assign stories guide editorial planning and ensure journalistic excellence in every piece published.
• Edit and approve copy with an eye for accuracy clarity grammar and tone.
• Oversee daily operations including layout production deadlines and budget.
• Represent Midland Reporter Telegram as a visible community and industry leader.

What You Bring

• A passion for impactful community-focused journalism.
• Bachelors degree in journalism communications or a related field.
• 10 years of progressive newsroom experience including newsroom leadership.
• Proven ability to lead teams coach talent and deliver results under deadline.
• Strong grasp of digital platforms content management systems and data tools.
• Mastery of AP Style grammar and editorial best practices.
• Excellent judgment and editorial instincts with the ability to balance breaking news enterprise and audience interests.
• A collaborative spirit and the ability to work across departments.
• Skilled in time management page layout and multi-platform storytelling.
