Position Overview
The intern would assist with Orientation for new students parents and families during the summer sessions. All new students (first year students and transfer students) beginning enrollment in September 2026 are required to register for an on-campus session which includes academic advising and course enrollment as well as student life components.

First Year Students:
Session 1: July 8-9 2026
Session 2: July 13-14 2026
Session 3: July 16-17 2026
Session 4: July 20-21 2026
Session 5: July 23-24 2026
Session 6: July 27-28 2026
Session 7: September 15 2026
Transfer Students:
Session 1: August 25 2026
Session 2: August 28 2026
Primary Responsibilities:
Planning and managing session activities;
Planning and managing check-in and check-out;
Preparing name tags and materials for each session;
Checking in with presenters and colleagues to ensure they are supported;
Answering questions from new students and parents;
Confirming logistics for each sessions (room setups catering media services facilities);
Overseeing evening activities;
Coordinating assessment of the sessions;
Assisting with planning Welcome Weekend activities;
Designing and implementing team building activities for student staff.
Learning Outcomes & Jesuit Formation Through this internship the student will:
Gain a deeper understanding of Jesuit values in student affairs particularly cura personalis reflection and community-centered leadership.
Develop practical skills in program planning administration systems thinking and operational leadership.
Learn how effective behind-the-scenes work directly enhances student experience and community wellbeing.
Strengthen professional competencies related to collaboration communication and organizational design within a student affairs context.
