Description This role will support two exoskeleton-based research studies at Holland Bloorview in which metabolic and biomechanical data will be collected during assisted walking tasks to evaluate the impact of powered lower-limb exoskeleton use on brain activity and energy expenditure. Please note this positionrequires availabilityon Fridays and weekends as well asflexibility to work outside standard business hours as needed. Key Responsibilities - Assist the research physiotherapist in accordance with the research study procedure
- Assist the research team to ensure accurate implementation of the full experimental protocol
- Document physiotherapy sessions and participant response
- Support the research team in maintaining a safe ethical and child-friendly study environment
Qualifications - Must be a graduate of an accredited Canadian community college PTA program
- Must have a minimum of one year work experience as a PTA
- Demonstrates initiative and self-direction regarding equipment maintenance safety and cleaning
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with clients families and members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and management
- Able to work comfortably with different technologies
- Experience with children and/or non-verbal individuals with disabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent organization time management and priority setting skills
- Solid problem-solving skills with a desire to learn
- Demonstrated understanding of a client- and family-centred approach to research
- Demonstrates skill in understanding cultural differences
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial ethnic and socioeconomic background
- Experience with an exoskeleton/ Trexo would be an asset
