This is a position for a Middle School PrincipalGrades 6-8 at Casa Grande MiddleSchool. Casa Grande Middle Schoolcurrently has an enrollment of approximately 700 students and is a Title I School.
The Middle School School Principal shall have performance responsibilities in the following areas:
Instructional Leadership- Visit all classrooms on a regular basis for the purpose of observing instruction evaluating instructional personnel reinforcing effective practices and making recommendations to improve instruction. Evaluate the schools implementation of the curriculum and the district assessment plan; monitor staff implementation of the district adopted programs and update the staff regarding changes in curriculum. Provide opportunities for professional growth and inservice for staff members at the school level. Use the district evaluation instrument as a guideline for the improvement of instructional staff skills.
Planning and Organization- Organize the certified and classified staff members for the most effective means of providing superior educational opportunities for all students. Develop and propose plans to meet the future facilities staffing and equipment needs of the school. Complete all paperwork/tasks requested from district office personnel within the given timeline.
Students- Develop document and monitor effective discipline policies rules and regulations to provide a safe and nurturing environment for students. Provide appropriate supervision of students by staff at all times during the school day and at all school-sponsored activities. Establish activities/strategies to ensure individual student growth. provide identification referral and support services to students requiring special attention. Supervise the maintenance and use of complete and accurate student records including information relating to health academic progress and attendance.
Human Relations- Foster awareness and understanding of school goals activities and programs and ensure parent and community input involvement and support. Maintain communications with staff personnel by various well-defined and periodic means to promote accurate understanding of school district and community issues. Demonstrate effective leadership in relationships with the administration the staff and the community.
Buildings and Grounds- Ensure that all facilities and equipment are conducive to the health and safety of students and staff. Maintain clean attractive buildings and grounds through the effective supervision of the custodial staff and in coordination with district maintenance staff.
Business- Budget monitor and approve expenditures of all school funds to provide superior educational opportunities for all students. Create and effect procedures to inventory and secure all school district property.
Professional Growth- Pursue instructional leadership skills and administrative expertise through comprehensive professional reading and/or attendance at seminars workshops conferences etc.
Qualifications:
- The Middle School School Principal shall hold at least a Masters degree from an approved institution.
- Theyshall have a valid principals certificate from the state of Arizona and shall have at least five years of successful experience in teaching and/or school administration.
- The principal should have knowledge and experience in the Essential Elements of Instruction as it relates to the improvement of teachers instructional skills and increased student achievement.
