Job Description
A business based in Sherburn in Elmet is currently recruiting for a Temporary Accounts Assistant to join their busy Finance Team on a 3-month contract. The successful candidate will receive a salary of 30000 pro rata alongside attractive working hours of 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday. The role also offers a supportive team environment and the opportunity to gain valuable experience within an established finance function.
Key responsibilities of the Accounts Assistant will include:
- Processing purchase invoices and ensuring they are coded and recorded accurately
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies
- Supporting the sales ledger including raising invoices and allocating payments
- Assisting with bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Processing expenses and assisting with payment runs
- Supporting the preparation of financial reports when required
- Maintaining organised financial documentation and records
- Providing general administrative support to the finance team and assisting with ad hoc duties
We are keen to speak with individuals who are currently working in a high-volume Accounts Assistant Finance Assistant Purchase Ledger Accounts Payable or similar finance role and are looking for a new temporary opportunity. This role would suit someone who can quickly adapt and confidently support a busy finance team.
To be successful in this Accounts Assistant opportunity you must:
- Have previous experience in a similar finance role
- Be IT literate and have strong Microsoft Office skills particularly in MS Excel
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to manage workload effectively
- Have experience using accounting software such as Sage Xero or similar systems with the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Be able to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
This role is easily commutable by car from Leeds Selby Garforth Castleford Tadcaster Pontefract and surrounding areas with on-site parking available.
