Job Summary

A leading international oils and fats manufacturing company is looking for a commercially driven Trading Manager to join their Gauteng team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a global organisation while playing a key role in commodity sourcing pricing trading strategy and risk management within the vegetable oil market.
The successful candidate will manage the buying selling and hedging of vegetable oil commodities while optimising margins and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Source vegetable oils at competitive prices to ensure optimal margins and uninterrupted refinery operations
Negotiate purchase and sales contracts across the full contract lifecycle
Manage commodity price risk through effective hedging strategies
Support currency hedging strategies in collaboration with the finance team
Monitor and analyse commodity markets pricing structures and competitor activity
Provide market insights and pricing guidance to internal sales teams
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers traders and customers

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Business Finance Accounting or Economics
2 4 years experience in commodity trading
Experience in vegetable oils or agricultural commodities will be advantageous
Strong understanding of commodity markets and financial instruments
Proven negotiation and commercial decision-making ability
Strong analytical and risk management capability
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
