POSITION: Assistant Athletic Trainer
JOB GOAL: To assist the Athletic Trainer in providing emergency medical care and treatment to all members of Barnstable High School interscholastic athletic teams for injuries and illnesses suffered by such members during practices or games.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelors Degree from an accredited College or University.
2. Certified Athletic Trainer designation as certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification.
3. Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Massachusetts.
4. Previous experience working as an Athletic Trainer preferred.
REPORTS TO:
Athletic Director
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide medical coverage especially for off site home contests when needed.
2. Provide medical coverage for home practices when needed.
3. Manage and treat injured athletes during contests/practices under the guidance of the Athletic Trainer.
4. Assist the Athletic Trainer with identifying replacement supplies to be ordered.
5. Meet with the Athletic Director and the Athletic Trainer prior to the start of each season to determine when additional medical coverage is necessary.
6. Communicate effectively with both the Athletic Director and the Athletic Trainer when an injury occurs. Provide information and appropriate medical documentation according to District protocols.
7. Attend and participate in athletic department pre-season sports nights.
8. Any other duties as determined by the Athletic Director.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT: Seasonal stipend.
SALARY: Per BTA Contract.
