Job Summary

Description

The labs overarching goal is to understand how cellular signaling regulates renal mechanisms associated with kidney diseases and to identify potential therapeutic targets for improving renal function and long-term graft survival after organ transplantation. The Wang Labs research is supported by the National Institutes of Health (R01DK122050 and R01DK138092).



Responsibilities
  • Conduct and optimize laboratory research protocols in biological sciences including molecular biology physiology and pathology techniques such as PCR mammalian cell culture DNA and protein electrophoresis immunoblotting

  • Utilize rodent models to study human disease. Required experience includes basic animal handling and research procedures such as blood collection post-mortem tissue harvesting intraperitoneal (IP) and intravenous (IV) compound administration mouse husbandry and basic microsurgical techniques.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This position requires a bachelors degree in a Biotechnology Biology physiology or medical science.
  • This position requires at least one years experience of research laboratory setting in biological science.

PreferredQualifications:

  • Masters degree in Molecular Biology Physiology Pathology Biotechnology or a related biomedical science field.
  • Experience working with rodent modelsand basic microsurgical procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in histological techniques microscopy and image acquisition/analysis (e.g. Zeiss Axio Observer or similar systems).
  • Strong organizational communication and teamwork skills.
  • Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelors degree.

    Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure certification or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.

    Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
