Detailer

Basic Job Functions:

A Detailer (Draftsperson) is responsible for preparing joist and deck erection drawings according to
project specifications and contract drawings using 3D software (Tekla). Detailers must be able to read
and interpret structural and architectural drawings specifications and design requirements related to
steel joist and steel deck. A Detailer must be able to apply this information to the preparation of approval
submittal drawings coordination of information between Vulcraft and our customer and preparation of
final drawings and bills of materials for release to production with all information necessary for correct
product design and manufacture. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore
candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices
procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Must be dedicated to teamwork as well as servicing the customer
Ability to manage and lead projects
Convey a high-level work ethic and maintain personnel morale
Possess good organizational skills and handle multiple tasks
Possess good verbal written communication skills as well as computer skills including Microsoft
Word and Excel experience

environment
Must be able to work overtime including weekends

Preferences:

Experience in detailing joist and deck or structural steel
Two-year technical degree or equivalent work experience
Experience with Tekla 3D software
Ability to read and understand structural and architectural drawings with specifications
