Civil Litigation Solicitor

Location: Oldham

Salary: 35000 to 45000

Experience: 1 to 2 years PQE

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Civil Litigation Solicitor to join a growing award-winning disputes team in Oldham. You will run your own files with support from an experienced Head of Department with clear scope to develop your technical skills confidence and profile.

The role offers a broad and varied civil litigation caseload with the chance to take ownership of matters from the outset and build long-term client relationships.

What Youll Be Doing

• Managing a varied civil litigation and dispute resolution caseload from inception through to conclusion

• Drafting pleadings witness statements and correspondence

• Negotiating settlements and advising clients on strategy risk and next steps

• Using a case management system to progress matters efficiently and accurately

• Managing deadlines and competing priorities with strong organisation and attention to detail

• Supporting the wider team including collaborating with senior colleagues and assisting with more complex matters

• Contributing to business development and networking (where appropriate) including developing relationships that generate repeat work

What Were Looking For

Essential

• Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales

• 1 to 2 years PQE in civil litigation and dispute resolution (or equivalent experience)

• Experience running matters with increasing autonomy

• Strong drafting skills and confidence preparing litigation documents

• Excellent time management and ability to manage a busy workload

• Strong IT skills and experience working with a case management system

Desirable

• A developing network and interest in business development and networking

• Experience across a broad range of civil disputes
