Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting for an Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) student placement located at our Leeds Manufacturing site. There is an opportunity for a person to work in the EH&S Department for a year completing day to day EH&S activities and there will be some specific projects too.
This work may include: Risk assessments job safety analysis and managing other documented risk control systems; Continuous improvements and looking into ways to reduce/recycle/improve waste streams and costs; Conducting internal EH&S audits; Completing/assisting with site safety inspections; Managing Good Saves database chasing open actions to closure and collating information on these; Incidents - updating of statistics and identifying any trends for investigation; Assisting our local Facilities Management team with environmental related projects and tasks; Other related supporting or administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Support EH&S and Facilities Manager with daily activities
Manage risk assessment database and oversee review of the system
Conduct site inspections with colleagues and capture any actions
Work on specific EH&S cost saving and improvement projects
Investigation of any incidents and corrective actions required
Assist with Good Saves monitoring programme
Collect and analyse data for monthly Enterprise metrics
Sustainability support - Tracking environmental footprints managing waste or emissions data and supporting the organisations gree agenda or sustainability goals
Education: We are looking for a student in their second or third year of their degree who has knowledge in environmental health and or safety.
Experience & Skills:
Have an EHS background ideally or an element of these
Great communicator and able to deal with a wide variety of different stakeholders within the business
Ability to work independently
Strong organisational skills able to generate reports and work with record keeping systems
Ability to problem solve and analyse situations
Need to demonstrate enthusiasm ambition and commitment
Preferred:
We would prefer someone with health safety environmental experience but someone with a strong interest would also be suitable
