- Oversee all aspects of the firms accounting functions including accounts receivable accounts payable general ledger and financial reporting.
- Prepare and review monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform month-end and year-end close procedures including reconciliations accruals and journal entries.
- Manage the firms billing process including invoicing clients recording payments and reconciling accounts receivable.
- Coordinate with partners and attorneys to ensure accurate and timely recording of billable hours and expenses.
- Monitor cash flow prepare cash forecasts and manage banking relationships.
- Assist with budgeting forecasting and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with the preparation of tax returns and filings.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
- 3 years of experience in accounting preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices including GAAP and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Xero or similar platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling and analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
