Job Purpose & Summary
Reporting to the Branch Manager the Senior Financial Service Representative will be responsible for providing a full range of services and product knowledge to the members of the Credit Union. They will be required to provide exceptional service to the members and always striving to improve member relations with the Credit Union. They will be accountable for following government and workplace guidelines policies and procedures. The Senior Financial Service Representative plays a critical role in achieving organizational growth by consistently achieving individual and organizational goals targets and KPIs. Building strong and long-lasting member relations through providing members with exceptional lending and investment services.

Skill Requirements Required Experience
  • 3-5 (three to five) years of lending and investment experience; prior banking/credit union experience preferred;
  • Superior customer service skills including dealing with difficult member situations;
  • Basic level computer skills including MS Office applications (Word Excel Outlook); and
  • Must be bondable.

What youd be doing:
Member Relationship Management & Advisory
  • Serves as a trusted financial advisor by maintaining an advanced understanding of HMECU products and services and proactively identifying solutions that support members financial well-being.
  • Reviews member inquiry screens and Lodestar opportunities to uncover and recommend alternative or enhanced financial solutions.
  • Proactively engages members through appointments outbound calls and follow-ups to strengthen relationships and improve overall financial outcomes.
  • Delivers exceptional member service by anticipating needs providing clear guidance and consistently exceeding expectations.
Lending Credit & Investment Expertise
  • Provides expert support for complex lending solutions including loans mortgages lines of credit investment products Collabria SOADs MeritLines and insurance-related products.
  • Conducts in-depth member interviews (in person by phone or via Microsoft Teams) for loan and mortgage applications ensuring complete and accurate collection of personal and financial information.
  • Completes credit applications accurately and efficiently with a First Time Right approach for underwriting review.
  • Performs comprehensive credit investigations including credit bureau analysis and vehicle lien searches.
  • Recommends loan approvals or declines to underwriters and proposes alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • Assists members with GIC renewals and ongoing portfolio needs.

Insurance & Risk Support
  • Acts as a key resource for members regarding Life Insurance and Credit Disability Insurance (CDI) including inquiries claims group mortgage insurance applications and insurance refunds.
  • Supports members through insurance-related processes with professionalism and care.
Subject Matter Expertise & Mentorship
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in credit products and applications providing guidance and mentorship to FSRs on complex credit files.
  • Reviews credit applications for completeness accuracy and integrity of information prior to submission.
  • Shares knowledge best practices and experience with FSRs and MSRs while actively seeking feedback and collaboration.

Sales Business Development & Performance Accountability
  • Drives new business by identifying member needs and proactively recommending Credit Union products and services.
  • Works toward individual quarterly commitments including insurance sales and cross-selling of Credit Union offerings.
  • Demonstrates resilience and determination in achieving results responding constructively to setbacks and challenges.
Operational Excellence & Accuracy
  • Maintains accurate member files and ensures all documentation is complete compliant and properly filed.
  • Reconciles daily loan reports and verifies loan documentation within DNA and LOS systems.
  • Ensures all information entered into LOS reflects the full and accurate financial picture of the member.
  • Delivers high-quality work with minimal errors and takes ownership of corrections when required.
  • Completes all responsibilities in a timely and professional manner.
Communication & Professional Conduct
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with members lenders supervisors and frontline team members.
  • Uses appropriate communication techniques during difficult high-stress or emotionally sensitive situations.
  • Demonstrates strong active listening skills and communicates clearly in both written and verbal correspondence.
  • Ensures all communication adheres to HMECUs Privacy Policy and confidentiality standards.
Compliance Risk & Issue Resolution
  • Maintains a strong working knowledge of all job-related policies procedures regulations and legislative requirements (including AML privacy and workplace conduct policies).
  • Identifies issues or concerns proposes solutions and resolves matters within scope of accountability escalating when necessary.
  • Follows internal procedures and organizational practices to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
Team Collaboration & Change Leadership
  • Collaborates effectively with the frontline and lending teams to support shared goals and service excellence.
  • Contributes ideas insights and solutions to improve processes and member experience.
  • Demonstrates flexibility by supporting colleagues adapting to change and taking on responsibilities beyond regular duties when required.
  • Maintains a positive and professional approach during periods of change uncertainty or system conversions.

Professional Development Attendance & Safety
  • Maintains current knowledge of Credit Union lending and deposit services through ongoing training and development.
  • Attends and actively participates in required training sessions seminars and conferences.
  • Maintains acceptable attendance and reliability.
  • Commits to health and safety in the workplace and actively supports a safe and respectful work environment.
