Shields Auto Center is actively seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technicianto join our growing dealership service department inRantoul IL. We are looking for a skilled technician with strong diagnostic abilities who can perform high-quality repairs on engines transmissions electrical systems and drivability concerns.

Key Responsibilities
Perform automotive repairs and maintenance according to repair orders and manufacturer standards
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using scan tools and advanced diagnostic equipment
Road-test vehicles to verify concerns and confirm repair completion
Service and repair engines transmissions steering suspension brakes HVAC and electrical systems
Accurately document repairs and labor operations
Communicate additional repair needs and time estimates with Service Advisors
Complete warranty repairs in compliance with Ford manufacturer guidelines
Maintain a clean organized and safe work area
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience as an Automotive Service Technician
Ford and/or Chrysler certifications strongly preferred
Previous dealership experience highly desirable
Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience with electronic diagnostic equipment and scan tools
Solid understanding of engine repair and drivetrain systems
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid drivers license with clean driving record
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced service department
Positive team-oriented attitude with commitment to quality workmanship
