Duties & Responsibilities
Job & Company Description:
Our client is looking for a skilled Electrical Technician with a strong background in lowcurrent electrical engineering and automation.The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining programming commissioning and optimising PLCbased control systems HMI interfaces SCADA platforms field devices and electrical panels used in automated production equipment.
The role requires strong problemsolving skills the ability to manage multiple technical tasks and the capability to provide onsite support during machine installations upgrades and breakdowns.
Education:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (Low Current) or equivalent
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- 23 years experience in electrical/automation engineering within a manufacturing environment
Technical Skills:
- Strong problemsolving & faultfinding abilities
- PLC programming & troubleshooting (Delta PLCs) using:
- WPLSoft
- ISPSoft
- PLC ladder logic development and modification
- Configuration of digital I/O analogue cards (420mA 010V) temperature modules and signal scaling
- MasterSlave communication setup using:
- Ethernet (Modbus TCP/IP)
- RS485 (Modbus RTU / ASCII)
- Integration with HMIs VFDs temperature controllers & field devices
- Delta HMI programming using DOPSoft:
- Realtime visualisation
- Alarm screens
- Data entry & recipe screens
- Trend graphs
- SCADA development (Delta DiaView)
- LabView application development
- SQL server database development ODBC integration
- PowerBI dashboard/report creation
- Calibration of loadcells temperature controllers etc.
- VFD setup (Delta & Yaskawa)
- Electrical panel design wiring & interpretation of electrical drawings
- Energy metering systems CT installation LPU tariff structures TOU billing
- SQLbased energy monitoring & reporting
- Working knowledge of LV metering installations
- Basic mechanical fitting & tool usage
