Job Summary

Heres What You Need

High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required

3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship required. 1 year Paramedic experience in EMS or Fire Dept preferred

EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required or

LP - Licensed Paramedic

ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire required and

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and

CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (ED Only) within 60 days of hire required.

Work location: Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital 811 Wright St in Arlington TX 76012.

Work hours: PRN (as needed) Day Shift (6a to 6:30p).No call or weekend requirements. Great growth opportunity.

  • Paramedics work closely with physicians RNs respiratory therapy and ancillary teams as valued members of the interdisciplinary ED care team

Hospital-based paramedics function within a defined scope of practice performing advanced clinical skills under direct physician supervision in accordance with Texas Health Resources protocols

Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team

Fast-Paced high-volume department averaging 10 - 20 patients/day

The professional paramedic exhibits understanding of basic human needs and demonstrates recognition and understanding of patients affiliations.

What You Will Do

Provides Safe Patient CareUnder Physician Delegation:

Completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record

Provides consistent attention to airway intake elimination sleep rest mobility and hygiene needs

Applies antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices

External defibrillation

Nasal cannula or oxygen mask application

Oral airway insertion and removal

Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV Access

Draw blood from ports

Other duties as assigned by the care team
