Position Summary

North Greenville University is receiving applications for the position of Associate Dean of the College of Business and Entrepreneurship beginning with the start of the 2026-27 Academic Year. This individual will hold the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the appropriate business discipline. Candidates applying for this position should hold an earned doctorate from an accredited institution in one of the functional areas taught in the College of Business and Entrepreneurship. Excellent oral and written communication skills problem solving skills as well as demonstrated leadership vision and collaborative skills are necessary to assist in the successful operation of the College. Previous leadership experience as a chair associate dean or dean. Experience as an associate dean or dean is preferred.

North Greenville University is a teaching university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Members of the NGU faculty are orthodox Christians who have a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ are role models in their piety and ethics maintain active membership in an evangelical congregation and mentor students academically and spiritually. They are Christian scholars who reflect upon their discipline from the perspective of a biblical worldview and are expected to teach in accordance with and not contrary to the universitys Statement on Human Flourishing. Responsibilities

  • Serve on the deans leadership team for the College of Business and Entrepreneurship
  • Help to capture and implement the deans visionary ideas.
  • Assist the dean with strategic planning and continuous improvement.
  • Supervise chairs in the college in their operational roles and conduct their annual reviews.
  • Advise the dean and provost on challenges and opportunities related to business education.
  • Assist the dean in developing a thriving learning community within the College of Business and Entrepreneurship. New initiatives may be undertaken to foster the integration of faith and learning encourage scholarship and promote service to the profession the community and the Church.
  • Assist the dean in exploring opportunities related to new academic programs new delivery methods and the redesign of current programs and processes.
  • Assist chairs with curriculum change submissions including course/program proposals and revisions in consultation with appropriate staff in the Office of Academic Administration.
  • Coordinate course scheduling for all programs in the College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
  • Assist the dean in coordinating periodic program review for all programs within the college.
  • Coordinate the annual Institutional Effectiveness process for programs offered within the college and the annual assessment of these academic programs.
  • Work with the dean and chairs to conduct faculty searches and recruit quality full-time and part-time faculty members for the college.
  • Teach up to 12 semester hours per year.
  • Participate in appropriate professional community and church service activities.
  • Assist the dean in cultivating relationships with business nonprofit and civic leaders who can serve as advisors and champions of NGUs business programs.
  • Represent the university in business and other community events when requested by the dean.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the dean.

  • Speaking: Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately professionally and with a contextually appropriate tone and volume.
  • Cognitive/Emotional: Ability to critically think and express emotions and thoughts in an honest collegial constructive and prudent manner

Working Relationships and Work Schedule

This position is a full-time twelve-month position. The Associate Dean reports to the Dean of the College of Business and Entrepreneurship who reports to the Provost and Dean of the University Faculty.

Qualifications
  • Must hold an earned doctorate from an accredited institution in one of the functional areas taught in the College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills organizational skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership vision and collaborative skills.
  • Previous leadership experience as a chair associate dean or dean is required. Experience as an associate dean or dean is preferred.
  • Previous university teaching experience.
  • The ability to integrate biblical faith in the teaching discipline and support the Christ-centered missions of North Greenville University and the College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
