Job Title: Case Manager Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt or Exempt
Division: Shelter Services
Reports To: Director of Social Services
Salary: $65000 annually
Location: 599 Utica Avenue Brooklyn NY
SUMMARY:
The Case Manager Supervisor provides leadership oversight and direct supervision to a team of Case Managers and a housing specialist serving individuals residing in shelter. This position ensures high-quality service delivery and the effective implementation of housing-focused case management practices. The Supervisor supports staff development while promoting client-centered trauma-informed care and ensuring compliance with agency policies funder requirements and applicable regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise train and support Case Managers in the delivery of case management services to shelter residents.
- Monitor Case Managers caseloads to ensure timely assessments service plan development and client follow-up.
- Review and approve client service plans housing plans and case documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure Case Managers are assisting clients with housing applications benefits enrollment and referrals to appropriate services.
- Review case documentation for quality accuracy and compliance.
- Provide guidance and support to staff in managing complex client situations including crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
- Conduct regular supervision meetings with Case Managers to review performance address challenges and support professional development.
- Monitor client progress toward housing placement and ensure housing placement goals are being met.
- Collaborate with Housing Specialists Program Directors and other staff to coordinate client services and housing placement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with agency policies DHS or funder requirements and documentation standards.
- Conduct case file audits to ensure completeness accuracy and compliance with program requirements.
- Assist with program reporting requirements and provide updates to program leadership as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings program meetings and trainings.
- Assist in onboarding and training new Case Management staff.
- Address client grievances and assist in resolving client concerns related to services.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree in social work human services or related field required.
- LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of case management supervisor experience
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Experience working with single adult men in a shelter or housing setting preferred.
- Strong leadership coaching and staff development skills.
- Knowledge of housing resources entitlement programs and community-based services preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational documentation and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Word Excel and case management systems.
