Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse will provide care to patients in the pre-operative and Phase II recovery stages primarily for general surgery vascular plastics and other specialties. The role involves pre-operative preparation post-operative monitoring and patient education for discharge. The RN must be proficient in cardiac monitoring medication administration and pre/post-operative care.

Responsibilities:
- Provide pre-operative care for inpatients and outpatients.
- Monitor and manage patients in Phase II recovery ensuring safe discharge.
- Administer medications including narcotics and reversal agents.
- Perform cardiac monitoring and manage dysrhythmias.
- Provide pre- and post-operative education and discharge instructions.
- Assist with pre-op for vascular procedures in the cath lab and endoscopy.
- Collaborate with the surgical team for various procedures including general surgery vascular plastics and more.
- Document patient care and related duties appropriately.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in a compact state.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience.
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring (dysrhythmia recognition/management).
- Experience with pre/post-operative care including assessment education and medication administration.
- Experience with surgical cases: ENT General Gyn Ophthalmology Ortho Ortho/Spine Ortho/Total Joints Urology.
- Experience with medications: Narcotics/Opioid Analgesics Reversal Agents.
- Experience in Ambulatory/Outpatient Inpatient Phase II Recovery Pre/Post settings.
- EPIC experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- ACLS certification.
- Experience with surgical cases: Cardiac Plastics Podiatry Robotics Thoracic Transplant.
Special Considerations:
- Must be willing to float.
- Pediatric experience preferred for pediatric cases (approximately 3-4% of cases).
