Role description:

The Project Accounting Analysts delivers project admin tasks such as project set up updates closure and project billing on a timely manner and in line with Project Managers requirements. Part of the role also is the preparation of project reports and analysis to support project managers and stakeholders as required.

Role accountabilities:

  • Setting up Projects in line with Project Managers requirements.
  • Reforecasting projects in line with Project Managers requirements.
  • Ensuring billing is completed as per Project Managers instructions.
  • Includes Fixed Price invoicing and Time & Materials Invoicing.
  • Carrying out inter-project time and expense transfers.
  • Setting up variations.
  • Checking and ensure the correct revenue recognition (POC% cost revenues WIP backlog)
  • Interpret and clarify project results deviations underlying causes and corrective actions to be taken.
  • Monitor work in progress & unbilled receivables.
  • Maintaining forecast and actual project billing dates.
  • Ensuring projects are closed on the system in a timely manner.
  • Continue to challenge and initiate continuous process improvement.
  • Prepare and update process documentations in compliance with standard project accounting processes.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your Team Manager.

Project Admins (Setup Updates Closing) - Basic to Advanced

  • Able to Set up from simple to complex Projects in line with Project Managers requirements with no guidance needed.
  • Able to interpret up to forecast the impact of workplan updates and result of PMs proposed amendments.
  • Able to Reforecast projects in line with contract and variations provided by checking correct revenue recognition (POC% cost revenues WIP backlog)
  • Able to close projects up to checking and analysing exceptional situations when closing projects.
  • Facilitate checking up to resolution simple to complex issues of project admin on a timely manner.
  • Able to identify up to generate process improvements relating to project admins.

Invoicing - Basic to Advanced

  • Able to identify and resolve common issues related to project invoicing and the factors that affect the same.
  • Able to determine the effects of project invoicing on the project.

  • Able to conduct project invoicing without supervision.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in accountancy or any business-related courses
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Exposure in Shared Service or Multinational environment is an advantage.
  • Experince with Oracle ERP Systems is an advantage.
  • Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft applications (Excel Outlook PowerPoint and Word) is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Language.
  • Good interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Results oriented.
  • Proactive and a committed team player.
  • Can work under pressure and no supervision.
  • Can work on flexible hours to meet changing work environment and to meet tight deadlines.
  • Detail oriented with Proficient ability to detect errors and inconsistencies.
