Project Overview

Client is seeking a Business Analyst with strong Cloud FinOps experience to support cloud financial management across AWS and Azure environments. This role focuses on monitoring cloud spend identifying optimization opportunities improving cost visibility and strengthening FinOps governance.

The analyst will partner closely with Finance and Engineering teams to deliver accurate forecasting reporting and actionable insights for senior leadership.

3 Analysts
2 Engineers
Scrum Master
Product Owner

Interview Process: One technical interview (manager observing)
Expectation: Fully productive within 30 days
Ideal Start Date: No later than 12/15/2025 (subject to clearance timeline)

Key Responsibilities

Monitor analyze and report on cloud spend trends across AWS and Azure
Identify cost optimization opportunities including discount commitment strategies and rightsizing
Partner with Finance and Engineering to develop accurate forecasts and budgets for technology spend
Build and maintain automated dashboards KPIs and internal reporting to enhance cost visibility
Establish and implement FinOps governance frameworks and cost controls
Translate technical cloud metrics into business insights for senior leadership
Drive innovation automation and best practices to solve business and cloud cost challenges

Required Qualifications

4 years of experience in a financial analysis role within a technology department
2 years of Cloud FinOps experience
2 years of hands-on experience with AWS and Azure
2 years of customer service experience
Strong data analysis experience using Excel Power BI or Tableau
Experience with AWS Cost Explorer and Azure Cost Management
Familiarity with FinOps governance cost optimization strategies and cost allocation methodologies

Technical & Soft Skills

Technical Skills:

Cloud cost management tools (AWS Cost Explorer Azure Cost Management)
Experience with Cloudability and Apptio (preferred)
Multi-cloud environment experience (preferred)
Python programming (preferred)
FinOps Practitioner Certification (preferred)
AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification and additional AWS/Azure certifications (preferred)
SAFe Agile experience (preferred)

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Clear communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership
Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
