Job Summary

Multimedia & Digital Content Contractor

Role Overview

The Multimedia & Digital Content Contractor will support the Rhode Island Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CDHH) by producing organizing and maintaining high-quality accessible video and digital content. This role focuses on video production post-production accessibility features (including captioning) digital asset management and general support for CDHHs public-facing information needs.

Key Responsibilities

Video Production & Post-Production

  • Produce CDHH videos from start to finish including editing voiceover integration (when applicable) and final delivery.
  • Ensure all video content meets accessibility standards including accurate captioning and appropriate formatting for public distribution.
  • Collaborate with CDHH staff to align video content with agency messaging goals and accessibility best practices.

Captioning & Accessibility

  • Create edit or coordinate high-quality captions for all CDHH video content.
  • Ensure captions are synchronized accurate and compliant with accessibility requirements.
  • Support CDHH in maintaining accessible formats for public-facing multimedia materials.

Digital Asset Migration & Management

  • Support the migration of existing CDHH video content currently housed on YouTube to a centralized storage location designated by CDHH.
  • Organize migrated and new video content into a clear logical file structure with consistent naming conventions.
  • Maintain an organized digital video archive to support easy retrieval reuse and long-term storage.

Public-Facing Information Support

  • Assist CDHH with the development and maintenance of public-facing multimedia and digital information.
  • Support updates to existing content and creation of new materials as needed to ensure clarity accuracy and accessibility.
  • Provide technical support and recommendations related to digital media presentation and storage.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with CDHH staff to understand priorities timelines and accessibility needs.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress deliverables and any technical considerations.
  • Respond to requests in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in video production editing and post-production.
  • Strong working knowledge of captioning practices and accessibility standards.
  • Experience organizing and managing large digital media libraries.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based or centralized storage systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with agency staff.
  • Experience supporting public-facing government or community-based organizations is a plus.
