Summary:
-
Perform safe assembly and fitting of structural detail parts using drilling riveting and sheet metal fabrication techniques
-
Operate tools such as pneumatic drills countersinks rivet guns reamers and related equipment
-
Remove and install fasteners without damaging aircraft structures
-
Read and interpret work orders blueprints lofts sketches and operation sheets to determine proper sequence of work
-
Ensure defect-free assemblies prior to final inspection
-
Assist team members by interpreting drawings engineering orders and installation instructions
-
Develop shop aids and methods to resolve production challenges
-
Maintain production documentation including MIR sheets DMTs Crabs and PCOs
-
Assemble structural components using jigs fixtures pins clamps and precision tooling
-
Perform rework and repairs based on DMTs MRRs and PCOs to ensure conformity
-
Maintain clean organized work areas and comply with 5S Lean and safety programs
-
Use required personal protective equipment
-
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
-
Properly maintain and return company tools and equipment
-
Follow SOPs when operating ground support equipment
-
Safely dispose of hazardous materials including fuels oils and solvents
-
Maintain accurate aircraft job charging records
-
Support shift turnover communication and coordination
-
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
-
High School Diploma or GED
-
4 years of structural assembly experience
-
Basic computer and shop math skills
-
Ability to read and understand technical documents and use measurement scales
-
Skilled in close-tolerance structural work and use of specialty tools
-
Experience working with composite materials preferred
-
Ability to work any shift
-
Ability to climb ladders and stands work in confined spaces and lift up to 50 lbs
-
Experience with Solumina and SmarTeam preferred
-
Q-Stamp certification preferred
-
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
