Structural Engineer (Entry Level)

Come work with a team of engineering professionals dedicated to excellence at Coffman Engineers San Diego location. We are seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer with an interest in pursuing the design of commercial institutional and industrial structures for our San Diego office. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic have a desire to work and grow with a multidiscipline engineering team and be willing to have fun. 

Compensation and Benefits:

• Expected Base Salary: $80000.00 to $88000.00 depending on education experience and licensure.
• Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
• Competitive end-of-year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
• Hybrid work schedule (subject to change).
• 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching with 9% Employee Contribution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform structural analysis and design of structural members such as beams columns walls joists and foundations.
• Develop structural models that mathematically define and idealize the actual structure being designed.
• Use approved codes and standards to define structural demands on buildings due to wind and seismic loadings.
• Analyze and design connections of the various structural elements in a building structure.
• Perform analysis needed to evaluate seismic risk in existing buildings using approved structural codes and standards.
• Assist in managing BIM and production efforts.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications :

• Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment (or demonstrate ability to develop such abilities).
• Possess strong critical thinking organizational and analytical abilities (or demonstrate ability to develop such abilities).
• Able to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Excellent leadership verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
• Able to work independently as well as on teams.
• Positive contributor to overall office and department goals culture and morale.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Masters Degree in Structural Engineering required
• Registration as an E.I.T required
• Internship in the structural design of buildings or similar structures preferred
• Experience with computer analysis software systems 

Expected Salary Range: $80000.00 - $88000.00.
